New $25M Safety Equipment Grants Program

Our Safety Equipment Grants Program is under way! The program provides $25 million in grants for eligible policyholders to obtain safety equipment for use in preventing workplace falls.

Policyholders with reported payroll in these governing class codes—Roofing (5552, 5553), Sheet Metal (5538-1, 5538-2, 5542-1, 5542-2) and Carpentry (5403, 5432)—will receive an email invitation to apply for a grant 45 days after their policy renews or incepts.

Eligible policyholders may receive up to $10,000 in grants to purchase safety equipment. These equipment grants are completely free and designed to help protect employees and prevent accidents. To qualify, policyholders must be in good standing, have at least one reported employee who works at a height of at least six feet, and must upload an existing IIPP or create a new one in State Fund’s IIPP BuilderSM.

Policyholders who apply and meet the criteria will receive an email confirmation with their grant amount and a link to our vendor catalog to select the equipment they need. There is nothing to repay, and they will own the equipment outright.  Policyholders will be responsible for any tax liabilities related to receiving a grant.

This program is another valuable benefit of State Fund, and we encourage our brokers to promote this program to their eligible State Fund clients. Together we can help keep California workers safe!
