Sheryl Chalupa was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to State Fund’s Board of Directors in 2007.
Since 2001, Chalupa has been President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of South Central California overseeing the non-profit corporation’s work in Kern, King, and Southern Tulare counties. Chalupa also served as executive director of Girl Scouts-Joshua Tree Council between 1986 and 2001.
Raised in the small California farming community of McFarland, Chalupa is very active in her local community, including serving as chairwoman of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce for 2011.
Her involvement with the community also includes membership in the Bakersfield Rotary Club and service on the boards of the CSUB Foundation and WESTEC (Westside Energy Services and Education Center).
Chalupa received both her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and MPA from the California State University, Bakersfield. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and is a Certified Executive with Goodwill Industries International.
